QB Brock Purdy Thread

There's a lot of factors that really make it difficult for any 49ers QB. With moody not able to kick fgs it forces you to go more aggressive on every part of the field.

IE you have to pass in situations you might try a run which lets them tee off more on defensive on pass rush.the other teams know this.

Then you add in no healthy good weapons, and more than that the fact that the veterans are so favored they eat all the practice/game snaps of the young guys. This means the timing throws are off in game with the younger guys.

Then the whole long time to get the plays in from the sideline and no play changes at the line.

It's just a lot of factors that make it harder.

That design rollout from brock where he has an open field in front of him to his right is his best play. We don't run it near enough.

We don't throw enough screens or practice then enough.

brendel week 1 had no penalties, no sacks, and pff has him 6th in pass grade out of 35 qualifying. i'm gonna say he did well, even if it's one game, it was an encouraging one from center.
Summation from Chase; Good Brock really freaking good, Bad Brock needs to stop with the hero ball.

I agree. lol Mac won't cause a divide and Mac would most likely get obliterated by this o line, assuming they stay consistent. Lol

Thank you for this assurance. I was beginning to worry.

Sounds like Josh Allen criticism 4 years ago. Brock is still young and learning the capabilities of his teammates.

Gotta agree with that

If that last TD was the exact same play except it was Mahomes throwing it to Kelce the media would be worshipping it as play of the year

That is so true

I was pretty shocked that Nick Wright didn't hate on Brock. Fully expected him to move the goal posts and give Purdy a hard time but he actually owned it would be hypocritical of him to do that.

But yeah we all know Brock is always going to be under the microscope but I do think it's kind of funny how two of his biggest critics like Nick Wright and Colin Cowterd couldn't actually really say a bad thing about what he did.

Now if only our OL could get it together and our skill players could stop getting hurt. That would be nice...

I can't watch commentators, all garbage for the most part. It's like the equivalent of watching soap operas to me. No thanks lol

Just give me football

I had a debate this offseason of pressure versus coverage. Which would you rather have. I say I rather have great coverage. Games like this is my argument.

Brock was pressured a league high 33% of the time. While having 4th highest completion %. Also his 2 Ints weren't product of pressure. Both were product of good coverage. Well, more so than pressure at least.

Pressure ain't s**t without coverage.
